Welcome to the South Dairyfarm

This 710 hectare property, situated on State Highway 5, 18 kms south of Rotorua, completed its conversion from sheep and beef to dairy in June 1998.
The conversion was modelled on North Dairyfarm as both properties are similar, and the earlier conversion was operating very successfully. The cost of South Dairyfarm conversion was just over $2 million.

The property consists of 635 hectares of effective grazing area, of which 510 hectares is milking land and the balance of 125 hectares is dry stock land.

The South Dairyfarm is well managed by David Morell and Hayley Coleman who in June 2009, commenced their third season as 50 percent sharemilkers on this farm.
David and Hayley have one son, Quinn, aged 2 years and one daughter, Elizabeth aged 1 year.

The sharemilkers employ four full time staff to assist in the running of the farm.

In November 2009 the sharemilkers and staff are currently milking 825 cows.
