Welcome to the Atiamuri farm

The trust took possession in November 2004 of this dry stock farm in Atiamuri. The total farm area is 232 ha. of which 200 ha.is grazing land.

Since then major development has been carried out to select the land most suitable for finishing deer, then remove the existing fencing and erect new deer fencing.A total of 22.5 km. has been erected by 2 contract fencers. The deer farm is 140 ha, subdivided into 30 paddocks.

Other development included earthworks (to form fencelines, and installation of culverts in streams);water reticulation (to paddocks to ensure that all grazing paddocks have trough stock water);the erection of the deer shed and yards ; redecoration of the house (to bring it up to a good comfortable standard for the farm manager and his family); purchase a 4 wheel drive tractor and farm trailer (to carry out the development and then farm running), and finally erect cattle yards and build an implement - woolshed.

Now we have a well set up farm to meet our requirements of finishing deer, cattle, and lambs.
Our policy is to add value to these stock.
The weaner deer from our own Tumunui Deer property on SH 5, the cattle purchased , and the lambs from our own Sheep and Deer farms.

In November 2009, this farm is carrying 1000 head of weaner deer, 100 head of cattle , 250 breeding ewes and 300 lambs.

Graham and Jeanette Birch are managing the farm and doing a great job.
Graham and Jeanette have two sons, Jayden aged 14 years, and Matthew aged 11 years.
